- AJalaluddin Khilji
- BAlauddin Khilji

Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: (a) Jalaluddin Khilji
Explanation
Shaikh Nizamuddin Auliya witnessed the reign of more than seven Sultans who came to power one after another; however, he never went to anyone’s court. Sultan Jalaluddin Khilji was probably the first ruler who, after hearing about the Shaikh’s fame and greatness, offered him a few villages and expressed a desire to meet him. The Shaikh refused, saying: “My khanqah has two doors; if the Sultan enters from one, I will leave from the other.” Later, when Sultan Jalaluddin wished to meet him without prior notice, Auliya’s beloved disciple Amir Khusro informed Auliya about it. As soon as he received the information, Shaikh Nizamuddin Auliya immediately left for Ajodhan to visit his spiritual master (Baba Farid). Thus, Auliya continued to avoid meeting the Sultan directly. It is also mentioned that Alauddin Khilji wished to meet Auliya, but no such dramatic incident is associated with Alauddin as is associated with Jalaluddin.
