Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: (b) Effective majority

Explanation

Under Article 94(c), the Speaker can be removed by a resolution of the Lok Sabha passed by a majority of all the then members of the House. This means the House's total strength minus the vacant seats, which is called an effective majority.

At least 14 days' notice must be given of such a resolution. While it is being considered, the Speaker does not preside, but can speak and vote in the first instance.
