Explanation

In October, 1924, Sachindranath Sanyal, Ram Prasad Bismil and others founded the revolutionary organisation ‘Hindustan Republican Association’ at Kanpur. On 9 August, 1925, this organisation looted the government treasury by carrying out a dacoity on the “8 Down Saharanpur–Lucknow Passenger Train” at a place called Kakori on the Lucknow–Saharanpur Division of the Northern Railway. This incident became famous as the Kakori Case (present name—Kakori Train Action). In this case, 43 revolutionaries were arrested, including Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaqullah Khan, Roshan Singh and Rajendra Lahiri, who were hanged, while Chandrashekhar Azad escaped.
