Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: (b) The suspension of the Non-Cooperation Movement by Gandhiji

Explanation

After 1922, with the suspension of the Non-Cooperation Movement and the absence of any political activity in the country, many capable nationalist youths became disillusioned. They were also dissatisfied with Gandhi’s leadership and the politics of non-violent struggle. Inspired by revolutionary movements and rebellions in Russia, China, Ireland, Turkey, Egypt, etc., they sought to overthrow British rule through violent means. Therefore, this period is regarded as the phase of revival of revolutionary methods in Indian politics.
