Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: (b) Dar-ul-Islam

Explanation

Aurangzeb was, above all, a zealous Sunni Muslim. His religious policy was not influenced by any idea of worldly gain. Having obtained the throne as a supporter of Sunni orthodoxy against the liberal Dara, he tried to enforce the law of the Quran strictly. According to this law, every devout Muslim should “strive in the path of Allah,” or in other words, should continue jihad against non-Muslim countries (Dar-ul-Harb) until they are transformed into the domain of Islam (Dar-ul-Islam).
