Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: (d) Talikota War

Explanation

In 1565, in the famous Battle of Talikota, the combined forces of Bijapur, Ahmadnagar, Golconda, and Bidar defeated Vijayanagara. In this combined army, Berar alone was not included. According to Firishta, the battle was fought at Talikota, but the actual battlefield lay between two villages named Rakkasi and Tangadi. At the time of the Battle of Talikota, Sadasiva Raya was the ruler of Vijayanagara, but the real power was in the hands of his minister Rama Raya. Rama Raya was a capable commander; he tried to create divisions among the Muslim rulers of the Bahmani states, but he did not succeed. In this very battle, Hussain Nizam Shah personally killed Rama Raya.
