The Non-Aligned Movement was started on India’s initiative. It may be noted that, to establish peace and mutual cooperation in the world, India’s Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Egypt’s President Colonel Nasser, Ghana’s President Kwame Nkrumah, Indonesia’s President Sukarno, and Yugoslavia’s President Marshal Tito Josip Broz, with mutual cooperation, initiated the Non-Aligned Movement as a third force in world politics. The first summit of the non-aligned countries was held in Belgrade under the chairmanship of Yugoslavia’s President Marshal Tito. The 19th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement was held in January 2024 in Kampala (Uganda).
