Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: (a) Rajendra Prasad

Explanation

At the Haripura (Gujarat) session of the Congress in 1938, Subhas Chandra Bose became Congress President for the first time (unopposed). At the Tripuri session of 1939, he became President for the second time by defeating Pattabhi Sitaramayya, who was supported by Gandhiji; however, due to differences with Gandhiji on the issue of constituting the Working Committee, he resigned, after which Dr. Rajendra Prasad became the acting President of Congress.
