Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: (c) 1929 AD Lahore

Explanation

In the Calcutta Session of the Congress, an ultimatum was given to the British Government that it should accept the Nehru Report by the end of the year, or else it would have to face a mass movement to be started by the Congress. When the government did not give any definite reply within the fixed time-limit, the historic Lahore Session of the Congress was held in December, 1929 under the president ship of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, in which Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru declared the objective of Purna Swaraj (Complete Independence). As the midnight hour struck on 31 December, 1929, the Congress President, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, unfurled the flag of Indian independence on the banks of the Ravi River at Lahore. In its meeting on 2 January, 1930, the Congress Working Committee decided that 26 January, 1930 would be celebrated as “Purna Swadhinata Diwas” or “Purna Swaraj Diwas”. From here, the celebration of 26 January every year as Complete Independence Day began.
