Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: (c) Mahatma Gandhi

Explanation

On 23–24 November, 1919, the All-India Khilafat Conference was held in Delhi, and Gandhiji was its president (on 24 November). In December, 1919, the Khilafat Movement received further support at the Amritsar Session of the Indian National Congress. Until then, the Congress had carefully kept itself separate from religious matters; but after the Khilafat Movement began, Gandhiji felt that this was a golden opportunity to unite Hindus and Muslims—an opportunity that might not be available again even in the next hundred years.
