Explanation

Gandhiji’s first bold step in all-India politics was the satyagraha against the Rowlatt Act. The Rowlatt Act was implemented in March, 1919, against which Gandhiji organised a nationwide strike on 6 April, 1919. At Jallianwala Bagh, on 13 April, 1919, Brigadier General Dyer carried out a brutal massacre during a peaceful public meeting.
