- DFundamental Duties
Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: (c) Reservation for Other Backward Classes in educational institutions
Explanation
The 93rd Amendment Act (2005) inserted Article 15(5). It lets the state make special provisions for the admission of socially and educationally backward classes (OBCs), SCs and STs to educational institutions, including private ones, aided or unaided (but not minority institutions under Article 30(1)).
It led to the Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Act, 2006, which gave 27% reservation to OBCs in central institutions. The Supreme Court upheld it in Ashoka Kumar Thakur v. Union of India (2008).
Panchayati Raj came with the 73rd Amendment, Fundamental Duties with the 42nd, and reservation for women in legislatures with the 106th.
