Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: (a) Birsa

Explanation

The name of Birsa Munda’s guru was Anand Pandey. Birsa Munda led the Munda rebellion (1899–1900). He was born in 1875 in Ulihatu village. He received his education in Chaibasa. Influenced by German missionaries, he became a Christian, but his inner quest did not end. He began to believe in the original Munda religion of his ancestors. He was also greatly influenced by Hindu ideology. In 1895, he introduced a new sect, under which he asked people to worship Sing-Bonga (one God) instead of bongas (gods and goddesses). People started considering him the incarnation of God. During this period, on 3 February 1900, Birsa was caught while sleeping, and in June 1900, he died in jail.
