Explanation

Rabindranath Tagore was born in the city of Calcutta on 7 May 1861. In 1901, he started a school at Santiniketan called the Brahmacharya Ashram. On 23 December 1918, Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore laid the foundation of Visva-Bharati. In 1913, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature for the English translation of his collection of songs “Gitanjali”, titled “Song Offerings”. He was known as “Gurudev”.
