Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: (b) Aravalli

Explanation

The Aravalli is the oldest mountain range in India, and among the oldest fold mountains in the world. Formed in the Precambrian era, it runs about 700 km from Gujarat through Rajasthan and Haryana to Delhi and has been worn down to low, broken hills. Its highest peak is Guru Shikhar (about 1,722 m) on Mount Abu.

The Himalaya (Greater Himalaya, Himachal and Shivalik) are young fold mountains, still rising; the Shivalik is the youngest.
