Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: (b) Garos
Explanation
The Pagalpanthi movement began as a religious sect founded by Karam Shah in the north of Mymensingh (now in Bangladesh). Under his son Tipu Shah, the Garo and Hajong tribal peasants rose (1825–1835) against the oppression of the zamindars and the high rents, and the British had to put them down.
The Kolis (in western India), the Gonds (in central India) and the Bhils (in Khandesh and western India) rose in other revolts.
