According to recent proof, the life on earth emerged approximately -
- ABefore 20,000 years
- BBefore 2,00,000 years
- CBefore 20,00000 years
- DBefore 2,000,000,000 years
Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: (d) Before 2,000,000,000 years
Explanation
Life arose on Earth billions of years ago. Of the options, only 2,000,000,000 (2 billion) years is on that scale; the others are tens or hundreds of thousands of years.
Present estimates are older still: the oldest fossils, stromatolites formed by single-celled microbes, are about 3.5 billion years old, and eukaryotic cells appeared roughly 2 billion years ago.
