Correct answer: (a) Lucknow Conference of Congress in 1916
Explanation
In the Lucknow session of 1916, the members of the Home Rule League got a good opportunity to show their strength. Tilak’s supporters even made it a tradition on which the Congress rested for many years. His supporters reserved a train to reach Lucknow; some called it the “Congress Special,” while others called it the “Home Rule Special.” Arundale asked every member of the League to make every possible effort to become a member of the Lucknow session. Immediately after the conclusion of the session, meetings of both Home Rule Leagues were held in the same pavilion, in which about one thousand representatives participated. The Congress–League agreement was praised. Tilak and Annie Besant addressed the meeting.
