Explanation

The Perform, Achieve and Trade (PAT) scheme was started in 2012. It is implemented by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency under the Ministry of Power. The objective of this scheme is to reduce specific energy consumption (i.e., energy use per unit of output) for designated consumers in energy-intensive sectors. The Mangrove Initiative for Shoreline Habitats and Tangible Incomes (MISHTI) was first presented in the Union Budget 2023-24. This initiative was started on 5 June 2023. Its objective is to restore and promote mangroves as a unique natural ecosystem, and to protect and enhance the sustainability of coastal habitats. On 1 November 2021, during the COP26 Conference in Glasgow (Scotland), Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented the concept of the Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE) initiative. In January 2019, the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) was started by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change as a national-level strategy. The objective of this programme is to improve air quality in 130 cities of 24 States/Union Territories (non-attainment cities and cities with a population of more than one million).
