Explanation

Maharashtra was the first state in India where the Lokayukta office was established in 1972 under the “Maharashtra Lokayukta and Upa-Lokayukta Act, 1971”. Odisha was the first state to pass legislation related to the establishment of Lokayukta (in 1970), but the institution came into existence there only in 1983.
