Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: (b) 42nd Amendment Act
Explanation
In 1976, the Swaran Singh Committee was constituted to give recommendations on constitutional reforms. On the basis of the Swaran Singh Committee’s recommendations, the 42nd Constitutional Amendment Act, 1976 inserted Part IV-A and, under it, Article 51-A in the Constitution, and 10 Fundamental Duties were included in the Constitution. In 2002, by the 86th Constitutional Amendment Act, 2002, one new Fundamental Duty (related to the education of children in the age group 6–14 years) was added. Therefore, now the number of Fundamental Duties has become 11. The Swaran Singh Committee included 12 members including the Chairman.
