Explanation

According to the Census 2011, Bihar’s population density is 1106 persons per sq km. From the viewpoint of states, it stands first, while in the combined list of states and Union Territories it stands sixth. In this context, Delhi ranks first (11,320 persons per sq km). India’s population density is 382 persons per sq km. In 2001, Bihar’s population density was 881 persons per sq km, whereas as per the 1991 Census, Bihar (497 persons per sq. km.) was in the third position.
