Explanation

Jayaprakash Narayan is also known as ‘Loknayak’. In 1942, during the Quit India Movement, he, along with Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia and Aruna Asaf Ali, organized the Indian masses through underground activities. On 5 June 1974, he gave the call for “Total Revolution” at Gandhi Maidan, Patna. In 1999, he was awarded the Bharat Ratna (India’s highest civilian award) posthumously.
