‘Swami Vidyanand’ was a peasant leader of Bihar. During the Non-Cooperation Movement (1920–22 A.D.), Swami Vidyanand led the peasants in Bihar, especially in several districts of North Bihar. Particularly in the Darbhanga region, Swami Vidyanand was making the tenants (raiyats) aware of their rights.
